Fund Accountant (Associate Level)

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Supporting the preparation of financial statements and other accounting reports for our clients
  • Liaison with the client’s working team members in both Mandarin and English to request accounting information and discuss accounting issues
  • Recording transactions in our financial accounting system, including bookkeeping for purchase and sales invoices, bank reconciliations, and analysis of fund transactions
  • Administration work including preparing fund correspondence and notices, and ensuring that our permanent files are adequately maintained for new and existing clients
  • Supporting the client during the year-end audit, including the preparation of audit schedules
    Overseeing work of more junior team members

Technical knowledge / skills required:

  • Accountancy related degree preferred (ideally 2:1 degree class or above, GPA 3+)
  • Typically 2-3 years prior accounting work experience
  • Candidate will have embarked on professional accountancy course study from a recognised body (e.g. ACCA, HKICPA, CPA etc.) and have completed and passed some modules already
  • Excellent written and spoken Mandarin and English communication skills
  • A positive attitude, a sense of satisfaction from doing your best, and self-discipline are all essential
  • Experience in using accounting packages for bookkeeping and report production
  • Microsoft Excel and Word experience, including the ability to produce neatly presented work
  • Client service experience is a plus
  • Experience of investment/private equity or real estate accounting is helpful but not essential
  • Position is more likely to suit those with accounts preparation experience rather than audit experience
