Langham Hall, the fund administrator and depositary to the private equity and real estate market, is pleased to announce that it is now licensed to provide depositary services in Luxembourg.
The depositary licence, which authorises Langham Hall Luxembourg to act as a depositary to closed-ended funds primarily investing in assets other than financial instruments, complements Langham Hall Luxembourg's central administration, transfer agency and domiciliation business led by Keith McShea and Tatyana Boger.
Langham Hall Luxembourg's depositary business is led by Antoine Bonte and Clive Griffiths. Antoine Bonte recently joined Langham Hall from the Real Estate Funds Audit department at PwC Luxembourg and is a qualified French auditor. Clive Griffiths, a Scottish Chartered Accountant, has been a director of Langham Hall Luxembourg since 2011 and has 25 years of senior level experience in the Luxembourg financial services sector.
The depositary licence in Luxembourg further bolsters the Langham Hall group's prominence in the depositary services sector for closed-ended funds investing in alternative assets, with established depositary services businesses in the UK, where Langham Hall has developed a market leading presence, and Jersey.
Keith McShea, Head of Langham Hall Luxembourg, commented: "We have seen significant client demand for a combined central administration, transfer agency and depositary services offering in Luxembourg. The extension of our regulatory licence to include depositary services means that we are able to satisfy this demand, by providing the client-oriented, problem-solving approach expected by our clients across the business lines."
Rob Short, Langham Hall's Group Managing Partner, said: "Our depositary services licence in Luxembourg represents another milestone for the group. Langham Hall is now able to provide combined administration and depositary services to a broad range of private equity and real estate focused funds established or marketed in Europe. Clients engaging us for depositary services can benefit from the tried and tested Langham Hall depositary business model that already serves funds with over US$40bn in commitments."
