Purchase Ledger Manager

The role:

Langham Hall was formed to provide professional services by providing high quality accounting, fund administration and investor reporting services to real estate, debt, infrastructure and private equity fund clients. The Company was established in 2006 and now has operations in London, Luxembourg, Hong Kong, Singapore, New York and the Channel Islands with over 300 staff looking after $35bn of funds under administration across 220 plus funds and $50bn of depositary assets across 90+ AIFs


Due to rapid growth Langham Hall is looking to expand its Fund Accounting team and establish a dedicated Accounts Payable function.  Once established the team will be responsible for bank liaison, bank account administration and executing payments for a portfolio of real estate clients.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Initial responsibility for establishing the Accounts Payable team
  • Act as Administrator on a number of online banking platforms
  • Build strong relationships with client relationship managers at a number of banking institutions 
  • Management of  bank account set-up for our Real Estate clients
  • Liaison with internal fund accounting teams
  • Responsible for managing the Accounts Payable process for a portfolio of Real Estate clients
  • Management of payment runs and coordinate the payment approval process with Senior Management across all major online banking platforms
  • Ensure all invoices are recorded, coded and uploaded to SUN systems
  • Resolve Accounts Payable related client queries in a professional and timely manner
  • Management and development of two Purchase Ledger Clerks
  • Other ad hoc tasks/projects as requested by the client

Technical knowledge / skills required:

  • Experience in managing a Purchase Ledger team
  • The ability and aptitude to lead project management work and drive change
  • Proven track record of managing and developing a team
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Organisational and timekeeping skills are a requisite in order to manage a portfolio of clients
  • The individual must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills as they will be liaising with team members on a daily basis
  • Intermediate excel skills required
  • The ability to use initiative when confronting queries and considering whether processes can be improved
  • Prior experience of SUN systems would be advantageous but not necessary.
