Manager/ Assistant Manager- Accounting, Technical Team, Fund Administration

The role:

Langham Hall Luxembourg S.à r.l. is licensed by the Ministry of Finance and supervised by the CSSF to provide domiciliation, central administration, transfer agency and depositary services to regulated and unregulated funds and SPVs in the real estate, private equity, debt and infrastructure sectors.  Langham Hall Management S.à r.l. is regulated by the CSSF to act as AIFM for private equity, real estate, debt and infrastructure funds.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Supporting Directors, Managers and teams with reviews of deliverables during busy periods across fund structures.
  • Identify clients that need additional reviews via quarterly planning process
  • Plan with teams in advance to be available to complete reviews
  • Perform 2nd reviews across Fund Administration business, planned in advance, to help reduce workload pressures on Managers
  • Helping with standardization and process improvement initiatives
  • Directing the preparation of, and directly reviewing complex accounting deliverables when requested (e.g. Unit Pricing, Waterfall models, etc.)
  • Answering technical accounting queries on ad-hoc basis when requested
  • Close gaps identified in queries received, by training colleagues on re-current quarterly issues
  • Helping with Business Development, RFPs, client networking activities, when requested
  • Write articles on Luxembourg accounting, when requested
  • Help develop a database of upcoming changes in accounting standards/regulation that will impact fund accounting, communicate this in trainings
  • Coordinate and plan Accounting Technical Team workflow by planning work in advance
  • Help with payments authorizations when requested as part of weekly payment rota
  • Other ad hoc tasks/projects as requested by Director, be as proactive as possible
  • Prepare detailed work plans for self, and team if required for above, manage workflow and communication for the above tasks, use time in an organized way
  • Act as a technical accounting link between IT systems and help with new tools testing

Technical knowledge / skills required:

  • Qualified accountant
  • Experience in reviewing financial statements, quarterly deliverables
  • Excellent knowledge of double entry
  • Very good attention to detail
  • Organizational and timekeeping skills are a requisite
  • Must have good interpersonal and communication skills as will be liaising with clients and team members on a daily basis
  • Intermediate excel skills required
  • The ability to use initiative when confronting queries and process improvement skills
