Business Administrative Apprentice for HR and L&D

Reports to: HR and L&D Administrator

The role:

This is a great opportunity for a driven and talented individual to make a real difference as
part of a dedicated and professional team to design, develop and deliver an outstanding
training and development programme across the Langham Hall group.

Duties and responsibilities:

People Strategy

Human Resources

  • Recruitment – administration of interviews, tracker update with CV info
  • Draft reference request letters (both tenancy and employer)
  • Chase probation reviews, Objectives, Appraisals, Mid-Year Reviews
  • Process AXA forms once directed by HR and L&D Administrator
  • Assist HR and L&D Administrator in maintaining both HR and Recruitment mailboxes
  • Maintaining personnel files

Mentoring and Coaching

  • Administer the mentors and mentee being issued

Learning and Development

  • Maintain training attendance log and report to L&D
  • Co-ordinate training sessions including doodle polls, calendar invites (via HRIS moving forwards) and booking meeting rooms (with IT equipment)
  • Prepare for training sessions including training registers, IT set up, printing presentation slides
  • Send and maintain feedback forms and follow up requests
  • Maintain SUN training records including attendance, starters and leavers
  • Support with the operation and upload of materials to the LMS

Professional Qualifications  

  • Process booking forms for professional studies
  • Maintain study matrix
  • Circulate results to SMT

Gradate scheme

  • 2018 – support business with cohort
  • 2019 – support business with new cohort intake sept (tbc)


Assist with HRIS data inputting and reporting 


Technical knowledge / skills required:

• Competent / experienced at using Microsoft office packages (the ability to use word and excel effectively and efficiently is essential to managing work load)
• Excellent Communication skills
• Strong academics, with A-Level (A-C) or higher education
