We are pleased to announce that Langham Hall’s UK Depositary team has been selected by US firm, RXR Realty.
RXR is a well-known New York-headquartered real estate owner, operator and developer focussed on the New York City and surrounding metropolitan area boasting a number of impressive buildings in its portfolio, such as 230 Park Avenue in Manhattan. The company is presently working on a strategy to attract capital to its latest fund and requires a depositary to market to Danish investors under the AIFMD.
Joe Hime, Head of UK Depositary, welcomed the opportunity to work with RXR, and commented: “Whilst the current marketing approach under AIFMD has its challenges, an increasing number of non-EU managers are starting to successfully navigate the regulatory landscape and secure European capital, be it from relationships with existing or new investors.”
Michael O’Leary, Senior Vice President, Capital Markets said, “RXR is delighted to establish a relationship with Langham Hall. Langham Hall’s industry experience and approach to AIFMD depositary services are well aligned with RXR’s real estate fund operating model”.
Langham Hall’s depositary business has flourished having taken a leading role from the outset in discussions regarding depositaries under the AIFMD. In the UK, the company participated in numerous discussions with HM Treasury and the FCA and has lobbied with the industry bodies to reduce the regulatory burden of the directive.
As well as in the UK, the company provides depositary services in Jersey and Luxembourg. In total, Langham Hall has oversight of $40bn of depositary assets and over 80 funds (AIFs) whose funds under management are above the thresholds specified by the AIFMD.
Langham Hall is an independent, partner-led company that was established in 2006 and currently has seven offices and more than 200 staff throughout Europe, Asia and the US.
